Six miles north of Blue Sky Farms is the Suwannee River State Park. It is located at the intersection of the Suwannee and Withlacoochee rivers. This park is alive with history. Visitors can see remnants of a 19th-century steamship and two ghost towns that have been reclaimed by the sandhill wilderness, which is home to diverse and imperiled native species. There hiking trails, campground, cabin rentals, and a paved boat ramp.
The Suwannee River State Park is part of the Twin Rivers Wildlife Management Area which consists of more than 9,000 acres in 14 non-contiguous tracts in Madison, Hamilton, and Suwannee counties. There are areas designated for hunting, fishing, wildlife viewing, canoeing, horseback riding, hiking, bicycling, and picnicking.
At Blue Sky Farms you find ten acre estates wooded in commercially planted pine trees. The trees could be harvested in future for profit. Some of the parcels are located on a county dirt road and others are on a private dirt road. Electricity is available to the front of property. There is no requirement or timetable to build. However when you decide to build your home must be a minimum of 1,000 square feet or larger. Mobile and Modular Homes are permitted as long as they are 5 years of age or newer when initially placed on the property. Farm animals are permitted with the exception of pigs.
