This is your chance to own a piece of Lake Wales history, the Rhodesbilt Arcade Building. Rhodesbilt Arcade was built by Jesse T. “Good” Rhodes between 1924 and 1926. It is said that Mr. Rhodes was nicknamed “Good” because of the craftsmanship demonstrated in his work. As with many arcades erected during the time period, Rhodesbilt was influenced by Mediterranean architecture as seen in the decorative tile, curved parapet, and arched entrances. Today this landmark is a mix of retail and office space offering nine downstairs and 11 upstairs units. While some of the downstairs units offer private bathrooms, the upstairs provides a common room accessible only to tenants via a digital combination lock. This area offers a small break room-type space, as well as a bit of storage area, and restrooms. There is a total of 8,070 leasable square feet, both upstairs and downstairs. While efforts have been made to maintain the historic aspects of the building, it has seen recent upgrades including new electric, plumbing, high speed internet, HVAC, and the entire building is protected by a sprinkler system.
