Burnt Store Lakes (also referred to as "The Lakes") is a deed restricted community that has seen a tremendous amount of recent growth. It is located in the southern section of Punta Gorda and Charlotte County. Burnt Store Lakes is north of Burnt Store Marina. Burnt Store Lakes has an abundance of fishing and common grounds including the Lowell Thompson Memorial Park. Burnt Store Lakes is within proximity to Babcock-Web Wildlife Management Area, Charlotte Harbor Aquatic Preserve, Peace River Wildlife Center, Ponce De Leon Park and boat ramp, Burnt Store Marina and Pine Island's fishing village, Matlacha. For most of the homes in the Lakes, it is 1-5 minute drive from front door to the marina parking lot.
