Overview

How would you like a diverse lifestyle like going to an art gallery, then watching a locally-produced film at an art-house cinema after? Then, make a quick stop for shopping at a trendy local store, eat good food in a fantastic restaurant, and head to an artisanal brewery after to wind up the day?

Do you fancy a vibrant neighborhood where you can have this kind of lifestyle? You have to check out Midtown Miami – a trendy, friendly, and artsy district in South Florida. This community will surprise you with a burst of lively colors nestled away in what was once an industrial setting. At present, this area is filled with modern skyscrapers, world-class shopping and dining destinations, and chic art galleries.

What’s more? If you’re up for some great nightlife – this place is just perfect for you.

Within this stunning district lies four neighborhoods:
Wynwood - provides street art, movies, craft breweries, and graffiti-adorned places;
Midtown - offers trendy dining options as well as luxury residences;
Design District - presents a great shopping experience with incredible fashion, elegance, and design;
Edgewater - features old, unique homes and bayside high-rises.

Midtown Miami is downright ideal - a community where you live, work and play all at the same time. Modern conveniences are accessible - just a short walking distance from where you live. You will find several luxury residences, lush green spaces, and paved walkways all around. A refreshing sight to behold. There is a focal shopping hub called 'The Shops at Midtown', featuring several familiar stores. You can also find wide-ranging choices of casual, specialty, and fine dining restaurants within the neighborhood. People like to visit this popular complex here.

Midtown Miami is surrounded by equally remarkable neighboring communities like the Miami Design District. It is a shopping destination with distinct architecture, plus state-of-the-art design and fashion. You may wish to check out some of the high-end stores here like Prada, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Hermes, among many others. It is home to some of the raved world-class restaurants, too, loved by most locals and tourists.

For those who have their passions in art, the Wynwood Art District is just a stone’s throw away. What can you find here? A collection of the most extensive world’s street art collections. There are also nice restaurants, boutiques, cafes, breweries, and lounges. Great dining, drinking, and shopping options – that’s what you will find delightful in here as well.

Location

Midtown Miami, though relatively small is a cool neighborhood in the city. It is tucked between two of Miami’s most exemplary art districts. Midtown is situated just north of Downtown Miami, with boundaries of the street-art-stylish Wynwood District to its west and the plush waterfront side of Edgewater to its east. It is south of the elegant Miami Design District.

Midtown Miami takes 10 minutes to drive north of Downtown. Plus, it is approximately 5 miles east of the Intracoastal Waterway. If you want to reach the southwest of Midtown which is Wynwood District – just stroll for a few minutes and you’re there. If you are traveling, you will reach Miami International Airport in just 7-10 minutes. The good news is that you can ride the free Miami Trolley on days you feel like lazy driving. Or if you want to jog, drive or ride a bike, you can do it, too. Miami Beach is just a short 10-minute walk from Midtown. Remember, take the Venetian Causeway route (a couple of blocks South of Midtown) and you’ll surely enjoy this breathtaking view.

Lifestyle, Culture, and Arts

To complement the art landscapes of its two renowned neighbors, Miami Downtown has a couple of its gorgeous art galleries, too. Be captivated by the beautiful sculptures at the Gary Nader Art Gallery, while the Coral Contemporary Art Gallery’s attractive batch of painting series is something to watch out for.

We can see that the hotels in this neighborhood follow the trendy style and modern vibes of Midtown Miami. Most of the establishments are adorned with bright, colorful art with walls reflective of its charming and attractive backdrop, influenced as well by the neighboring artsy and culture-rich towns of Wynwood and Design District.

You can drive down to the famed Wynwood neighborhood as the sun sets for the day. Try watching their movies at their movie theatre or perhaps, at their Carpool Cinema for a different kind of experience. Hit straight to a restaurant, Prohibition Restaurant and Speakeasy located along North Miami Avenue for some comfort food and cocktails after. Think of their appetizing lobster mac and cheese and tasteful Wagyu skirt steaks - definitely must-go meals when you’re in this part of the district.

Shopping and Dining
The Shops at Midtown Miami

This is the main shopping hub of this compact neighborhood. It was patterned after the SOHO neighborhood in New York City. It’s quite a huge shopping complex featuring over 50 retailers (both national and local stores) and restaurants. Residents love shopping for their locally-made crafts and products. The great thing is you can just walk by to all these stores, no need for you to drive or commute. Everything is just a breeze.

The Shops at Midtown Miami is also popular for its big regular events. Just picture this scene: a big central outdoor lawn space where you can go moonlit movie night watching, practice for yoga weekend classes, and enjoy the popular community markets.

Nothing like having a promenade lined with those tall and lush palms so it is a delight to walk through afternoons here at The Shops at Midtown Miami.

At this beautiful complex, not only will you fulfill your retail therapy but you are up for some good dining, too. You can have options for both dine-in and takeaway along Buena Vista Boulevard that runs alongside the outdoor atrium of the shopping mall.

There are a few hip places for dining, drinking, and chilling. Among the favorites are the following:

Lagniappe, a cozy wine bar with its fine wines, cheese and varied cured meat offerings;

Salumeria 104 with its high-quality cold cuts;

Tap 42 Craft Kitchen & Bar, a posh gastropub.

Truly, shopping and dining combined are life’s greatest pleasures and you can experience the best with good-value selections here in Midtown Miami.
