There are plans for a $1 billion megaproject along the Miami River. The NY-based Cherit Group is the one initiating this. They're tapping David Grutman, a renowned hospitality mogul, to run the F & B operations here. The 6.2-acre site south of the river is between I-95 and Southwest Second Avenue. This exciting development is the River District. This will cover a multitude of everything. There will be condo homes, retail spaces, offices, restaurants, night spots, and a marina. Pier 19 Residences and Marina – This is a redevelopment due to the failure of a previous property here. It is a 199-unit apartment rental property along NW South River Drive. The building rises at 21 stories, and it features a 10-boat marina.
